Enrolment options

This course provides you with a basic understanding of blockchain and how it could be deployed in the business. It does not deal with coding and programming-related aspects. FITech and Aalto University provide the course.

FITech courses are open for Finns and people permanently living in Finland. Read more about FITech studies on FITech's website.

Only adult learners can get the credits and digital badge from this course - instructions can be found at the end of the course materials. You are an adult learner, if you are not currently studying for a degree in a Finnish university or university of applied sciences (for example, a person who is working, unemployed or high school student). Degree students can study the course, but they will not get credits or digital badge.

After the course, you will have the ability to

  • Understand the basics of blockchain, its business ecosystem and business models (especially NFTs, initial coin offerings, security tokens, smart contracts, and private Distributed Ledger Technology based systems)
  • Recognise the role of blockchain and its potential application in business transformations
  • Identify challenges related to the deployment of blockchain
  • Understand the ethical and environmental considerations of deploying blockchain solutions

Schedule:
No particular schedule. Online exam. No presence required. This is a very basic course without any focus on coding.
