A beginners’ course for Aalto University international professors and family members who have recently moved to Finland. It’s intended for real beginners who want a short introduction to the Finnish language and culture. Workload: Group work 12 hrs. + independent work about 15 hrs.
At the end of course, participants know the characteristics of the Finnish language and can compare Finnish to their own language. They also know some useful basic vocabulary and constructions and can respond in Finnish in everyday situations. After the course the participants can learn more Finnish on their own.
