In this course, we discuss theories and methods of analysis within contemporary aesthetics, visual culture, and digital communication. We take a problem-based approach to investigate, develop, and understand meaning-making and interaction in visual practice, artistic communication, and participation in social media and urban spaces. At the end of the course, students write a research paper in which they plan and evaluate a visual communication intervention in a specific context.
