The basic form in verb type 5 ends in a voweli -i and letters ta or tä. For example: tarvita to need, häiritä to disturb.
When conjugating verb type 5 verbs first drop the final a or ä  and then add se plus personal ending.

Examples:

VALIT-A to choose        HÄIRIT-Ä to disturb  
stem: valit+se-              stem: häirit+se-
Minä valitsen                minä heäiritsen
Sinä valitset                  sinä häiritset
Hän valitsee                  hän/se häiritsee
Me valitsemme             me heäiritsemme
Te valitsette                  te häiritsette
He valitsevat                 he häiritsevät
