Survival Finnish Online 20.11.–18.12.2023

Watching TV and films with subtitles is an excellent way to learn language. You can find many Finnish TV series and films on Netflix and on the Finnish streaming service Yle Areena (see links below.)

In this task, you should watch an episode of Finnish TV program / a Finnish film with English subtitles and write a short text in English: Which program did you watch? How did you find it? Which words did you understand? Did you recognize something that you think is particularly Finnish in the way people talked or behaved?

Yle Areena is a website provided by the national broadcast company, Yleisradio. Besides Finnish programs with English subtitles you can also find there many international programs and films with Finnish subtitles. Some of the programs you can only watch in Finland.
