  Ilmari Tapiovaara designed this Domus chair (also known as "the Finn Chair" after gaining recognition abroad) for Artek in 1946.
  

  It was designed as a reading chair for student housing.
  

  The idea was that the chair would be comfortable enough to sit for a long period of time.
